Countdown
at the departure gate
Ushered into another New Year, at the long bench of the departure gate, with a mass of tourists and locals mixed together under the low-rise thatched-roof ceiling. Count my blessings already, it could have been worst. Like: no flights, plane crashed or "Miss, you have to come back tomorrow for another flight!" All that I could remember was it was the shortest New Year I've have had. With misty eyes and groggy head, I vividly see many happy faces hugging and wishing one another happy new year, whilst toddlers were all sleeping on the waiting benches while their parents were chatting away. You know what, this is the first time that my New Year was spent in an airport shack. However one likes to look at it, it is still an experience by itself. Looking back at it, it was the best at that circumstance and in that situation. |
