Conquering Passion

As our dive boat approach the shallow reef, the blue ocean water turns into rich shades of turquoise and aquamarine that melt into the distant horizon of the cloud-filled sky. The group of us kneel at the sandy seabed, waiting for the arrival of the most elegant ballet dancers of the ocean. I was told that far out in the remote reef of Palau, one could see, as many as sixty to eighty manta rays putting on an opera play in the ocean blue. My heart twitched, only hoping that I could see it at least once in my life. I simply cannot imagine the anxiety and anticipation that had built up throughout the trip. My only aim is to see my favorite ocean pet.
