JAPAN - WINTRY PUZZLE

The whole evening, our conversation seems to focus and trying to evaluate her compulsion habit that both my partner and I have the pleasure to witness. I was by no means discriminating or belittling her habitual act that night. Neither did we confront or humiliate her. I took the tap and paid at the lower floor of the restaurant. After putting on my winter gears, I thanked the shop owner and step out of the restaurant. I wish that her peers and colleagues out there have sat her down and talk to her. Yet, knowing how a closed society Japan is, nobody would dare to confront someone straight in their face and be vocal.

I head down the wintry street, wind chilled my cheeks and I sigh a long sigh. It is indeed a misery, such a pretty and well-groomed lady, only impaired by a nasty compulsion. If only the culture can change. Well, perhaps some day. I tucked my palms deep into the pockets of my coat and bundled myself well to brave through the snow, in the land of the rising sun.
